Information for joining

Thank you for your interest in our club.

Our club is a mountaineering club whose purpose is to climb and trekking of mountains with friends and capture the excitement of being in contact with nature in photos. We carry out activities to suit each purpose, including who are about to start mountains and photography, who want to further improve their mountain climb and photography skills, and who are looking for like-minded friends.

 

The special features of our club are that we hold a photo exhibition once a year and produce an original mountain calendar “Gaku”.

Below is a brief overview of our club.

 

*Admission fee: ¥5,000 (non-refundable)

*Monthly membership fee: ¥1,000 (depending on when you join / one-time payment for the next year onwards)

*Equipment cost: ¥1,000 (each year)

*Vehicle accident reserve: ¥1,000 (each year)

*Photo exhibition venue fee: ¥5,000 (depending on when you join)

 

◎Regular meeting is usually held once or twice a month on weekday nights from 18:30 to 20:30 as core time. Members will be notified of the location and time in advance via group email. The contents include discussion of climbing and trekking, photo presentation, and discussion about group management. We also hold classes for members.

 

In addition, we also hold regular meeting on Saturdays and Sundays depending on the situation. Weekend meetings generally begin at 14:00 for about 3 hours.  We set themes and also have opportunities to learn about mountain climbing and photography.

 

◎The contents of the regular meeting (discussed items, plans and reports of climbing and trekking, and other various materials) are communicated from time to time using group email, so that even members who are unable to attend the regular meeting can share information. We also issue a newsletter on irregular.

 

◎We go a group mountain climbing about once a month choosing a mountain area that suits purpose. Also, we go to group mountain climbing during periods when it is easy to take long vacations, such as Golden Week and the Year-end and New Year holidays. Depending on the purpose, mountain climbing can range from low mountain trekking, climbing, and mountain climbing in winter. We also offer training climbing where you can experience and learn basic techniques for safe mountain climbing.

 

◎New member is recommended to participate in basic mountain climbing training for safe mountain climbing for one year after joining. You can participate in the training even after your second year, so please take part in it to learn the basics of safe mountain climbing.

 

[Mainly menu of training]

■Rock climbing training: Ensuring safety when passing through rocky areas, basic climbing, etc.

■Snow training: Walking on snow, ensuring safety, snow cave experience, etc.

■Antelope training: Night behavior, Bivouac experience, etc.

■Gait training: Weight-bearing walking and climbing on mountains experience, etc.

 

◎We produce an original calendar “Gaku” every year based on member's works. It is sold through postal transfers, Amazon.co.jp, sports stores etc., and has been well received by mountain climbing enthusiasts.

◎Every year, we hold a photo exhibition "The brilliance of mountain ridges" at an exhibition hall in Tokyo, which attracts many visitors.

 

◎Some of our members are professional photographers, so you can receive feedback on their work at meetings. And, you can receive instruction on photography and mountain climbing techniques on the mountain climbing.

 

◎Our senior members have certified mountaineering instructors by the Japan Sports Association, provide accurate instruction on mountaineering techniques.

 

◎ASA is a member of the Tokyo Mountaineering Federation. You can apply for mountaineering insurance and participate in seminars sponsored by the Tokyo Mountaineering Federation.
